Morels are popping

Easily the most anticipated forage of the year, the hunt for the elusive Morel mushroom brings everyone out to the woods! I have discovered that doing scouting missions a month or two prior to March helps narrow down areas that may look good on a map, or while driving by, they lack the necessary trees, etc. In this way, I am adding potential areas each year as some areas dry up. This year Morel season began with a bang.
